Oh my God... I can't believe it... this guy raised me for a good portion of my life. I used to remember getting so fucking psyched when he made a new video. His videos have made me laugh and cry.
This is so fucking shitty.

i cant honestly say id heard of randy up until now... all the deaths these weeks, him, edd, and luccass, its all terrible... and with a child too... i know this man is a legend... its a shame i couldnt appreciate him in life but i surely will now.... my condolences to his family... RIP dude

How come I find out about his death just now? I used to watch his animations in my teen age, he was the reason I liked animations and the reason I'm here in first place. Without him, I wouldn't have cared or known about newgrounds.

This is an incredible shock. Randy is one of my most favourite animators. Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom was a series inspirational to my own videos. I'm going to miss him.

R.I.P. Randy. You were a big influence to many animators and you were one of the guys that inspired me to work on Flash. So for that, I thank you and my condolences to the family.

You have influenced my life so much.... with your animations.. your comedy.. and overall talent... you were a very outstanding fellow... you are the reason I started into animation... this is a terrible loss to the flash world and the real as well... you have made me cry, and you have made me laugh.. you were truly an entertainer... and for that.... Shocked and sorry to hear about this. Randy and I had some pleasant and constructive conversations back when we were both working on our Mario movies. I'll never forget his help and kindness. Rest in peace.

Sprite animation wouldn't have been the same without Randy Solem. It might not even have existed. Damn, I remember how freaking amazed I was back when Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom 4 came out. It hasn't aged well, but its legacy shows in every good sprite animation that's been made since then.
